I’m Bob Cloyd — I’ll be honest, I never set out to write a blog. I just started writing down the things I couldn’t stop thinking about, and twenty-some years and 140-plus posts later, apparently I still haven’t run out.

By day, I’m a construction Owner’s Representative. I’ve spent 15+ years standing in the gap between owners and contractors, making sure buildings get built the way they were promised — on schedule, on budget, without anyone getting run over in the process. I hold a CCM certification, which mostly means I’ve read more contracts than any reasonable person should have to.

But this blog isn’t really about construction. It’s about the stuff underneath the job — grief and gratitude, faith and doubt, a high school football memory that turned out kinder than I remembered, and the ordinary realizations that make life seem much more meaningful.

I grew up in Radford, Virginia, and life has since taken me all over the country and the world. I’ve climbed the highest mountains and I’ve swam with sharks. I’ve lived in 21 different cities and two countries all before landing me in the Tampa Bay area. Somewhere along the way I became a man of faith, not just in God, but in life. I believe the life we live…here and now can and does offer us many clues, gifts and revelations sometimes disguised as other things…you just have to know what to look for.
